I think if you want to try this idea, at least have the two shades be the same texture. One glossy and one matte just looks odd.

Do you never, ever press your lips together?
It's totally wackadoo. You're going to end up with gloss half way down the bottom lip and red halfway up the top lip.

For New Year's, I think it's cute and different. If you press your lips together, you'll just eventually end up with an all-over, in-between color. I wouldn't wear it to work or anything, though.

I agree with most - different and would maybe do, keeping them separate is a whole nother story, I believe this works better in print than in real life. Some super-duper lipstick sealer may help until you eat something oily. It would look cute on my hubby's lips after I kissed him.

thanks for the feedback and opinions! but i ended up with just the top colour for both lips because i was in a rush. & since there are so many objections, i shall discard the whole idea. :/

A little off topic, but I'm just curious about the Maybelline lipstick...is that something that has been on shelves, or is it a new product that has yet to be released? I would loooove to try it, it looks very moisturizing, perfect for chapped winter lips :\

wow, this looks cool and if the 2 color dont differ too much i.e. a subtle difference i think it would be very wearable.

I almost always use more or darker lipstick on the upper lip. I thought this was a well-known makeup trick?

RoaringSilence, i'm not trying to introduce a new style. i just happened to like this combo while testing out my lipsticks.

a little late.. but i actually think it looks great. so what if it's impractical? haha. if u like it u should go for it. i wouldnt mind trying it out too.

I like to wear one color and then put a lighter glossier color on my lower pout. That's an easier way to get a two-toned lip look without worrying about it blending/smudging.
